20 Oct Autumn 2024 gigs update.
Hello again – hope you all had a great summer of festivals, holidays or whatever!
It was mixed fortunes for me, as while I was getting ready for the Saturday afternoon show at Southwell Festival at the beginning of July, I leaned on a safety rail at the back of the main stage, a joint in the structure gave way and I fell over backwards to the ground, hitting my head on a flight case on the way.
The result was multiple injury to my back and head, many hospital visits culminating in surgery to my head wound and a couple of months of extreme pain and inconvenience. By the end of August however, while still sporting a bigger dressing than Donald Trump’s on the back of my head, I could complete my gigs, both solo and with Chris Parkinson, at Whitby Folk Week. Wickham Festival was a wipeout for me – first one I’ve missed since it started. As I write now in late October, I’m functioning again, my head has healed up albeit with some sensitivity around the scarred area.
Some collaborative and fun gigs coming up for me soon – here they are:
